Although I have already raised 4 children, I still have one young teen left in the house. Now that I am older and have more experience, I thought that I would write down some pointers for my teenaged daughter.

Still Awaiting My Daughter To Graduate Boot Camp
It's been a solid 2 weeks now and my darling teen is still in boot camp...this is gonna be a long and lonely ride. She will be graduating next month, which is a good thing, but I miss her terribly. Meanwhile, Miss Frenchie is being well taken care of and family is visiting her about 3 times a week. My daughter's room is quiet: no music or tv blaring from within and I am not having to worry about her getting home at night...I still miss her. I am extremely proud of her for doing something that means so much to her. I will be very excited for graduation next month.!

My Daughter's In Boot Camp For The Navy
My daughter went into Navy boot camp last week and I am a proud mother..and excited and nervous for her all in the same ball of wax. I wasn't expecting to get her box of civilian clothes back after only a few days but it was good, a very good feeling. For a moment, I wanted to cry, because there were my daughter's things all together in a box: cell phone, shoes, clothes...but a very happy moment, indeed.
Being a mother of a daughter in boot camp in NOT an easy thing. I am anxiously awaiting the next step in her journey, which is a form letter that will tell me when she is going to graduate boot camp and her official address to write her at. For now, I have no communication and it's a very difficult time for me. Oh, I am sure that she is doing fine, but for me, I really miss being able to see her beautiful face every day or talk to her throughout the day. On the other side, I don't have to worry about what time she's going to come in at night or what she's planning on doing for the next several days. She is safe and sound. How can any mother be any prouder?

Boot Camp Coming Up Quickly
Time is creeping quickly by, and my darling daughter is embracing the shorter days until it's time for boot camp. What is there to love about boot camp? The yelling, being told what to do? Perhaps it's just only the beginning to a new life for her, the learning of how to work well in a team of others and discipline. Oh, discipline, there's something that she knows about. Her growing up years have been about being frugal, how to save money, but also getting the things that she wants in life even when it's a want, and not especially a need. Boot camp experience will teach her things that she wants to learn. In fact, she's very eager to learn more. She wrote a paper for a school project that she gave to me to read....I teared up just reading how she felt that she had experienced a great 4-years of high school and that she wanted to make a difference in her life by helping others and that is why she chose to be a hospital corpsman in the Navy. My little lady has grown up so much. I just can't express to you how very proud of her I am. I will be going to see her graduate from boot camp when it's over, and I just know the tears will be flowing. I am a very proud mother.
